Methodology governance

Use the right rule, and preserve the version used.

A methodology defines the project boundary, baseline, additionality approach, monitoring variables and calculation rules. Applicability must be established for each project—not inferred from a sector label.

01

Applicability first

Analysts record why a methodology applies, which version was used and any conditions that remain unresolved before project design begins.

02

Controlled calculations

Emission factors are versioned with geography, source, validity dates and approval state. Each calculation retains the exact factor version used.

03

Official sources

Regulatory material is linked to its publisher, publication date where available and a last-reviewed date. The platform does not silently overwrite historical decisions when guidance changes.
